Anaka Foundation – Empowering Communities

Anaka Foundation is a registered, indigenous and nongovernmental organization formed in 2004 to respond to the humanitarian crisis in northern Uganda that was perpetuated by the prolonged insurgency of 1986-2006 majorly by the Lord Resistance Army rebel (LRA). The Foundation was birthed by a cross-section of concerned Ugandans from both within and in the Diaspora with a vision of a society with sustainable livelihoods living quality and dignified life. The Foundation’s mission is to work with others to empower vulnerable communities through information sharing, learning, capacity building, advocacy and provision of basic needs seeking to promote the well beings of, particularly children, women, and youth.
